দুদিনব্যাপী স্তনরোগ আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন
বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শহীদ মিলন হলে দুদিনব্যাপী স্তন রোগের উপর ১ম আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন অনষ্ঠিত হয়। এতে দেশী-বিদেশী ডাক্তারা অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
বাংলাদেশে প্রথমবারের মতো ২৭ ও ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারী বেলা সাড়ে ১১টায় প্রখ্যাত বিদেশী স্তন বিশেষজ্ঞ ও ৪০০ জনেরও বেশি দেশীয় চিকিৎসক এ সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
এ উপলক্ষে পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের প্রখ্যাত চিকিৎসকগণ তাদের গবেষণালব্দ প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেছেন। ডা: এ.কে.এম ফজলুল বারী, এসোসিয়েট প্রফেসর, ন্যাশনাল ইনষ্টিটিউট অব নিউক্লিয়ার মেডিসিন এন্ড এ্যালাইড সায়েন্সেস (নিনমাস), বাংলাদেশে প্রথম বারের মতো আল্ট্রাসনোগ্রাম সুইফোটানো ছাড়া, অল্প খরচে, ব্রেস্ট ক্যান্সার নির্নয়ের পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে উনার গবেষনালব্দ প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন।
নতুন এই প্রদ্ধতির নাম ইলাস্টোস্ক্যান। বাংলাদেশে তিনিই প্রথম ২০১১ সাল থেকে এই নতুন পদ্ধতিতে ক্যান্সার নির্ণয়ের পরীক্ষা করে আসছেন। এটি অত্যন্ত কার্যকরী ব্যথামুক্ত ও স্বল্প খরচে করা যায়; যা ক্যান্সার হওয়ার শুরুতেই ক্যান্সার নির্ণয়ের বিশেষ ভূমিকা রাখছে।
তিনি তার প্রবন্ধে বলেন, নতুন এই পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে স্তন ক্যান্সার হওয়ার শুরুতে নির্ণয় করা সম্ভব। এই পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে আমাদের মহিলাদের অল্প খরচে স্তন পরীক্ষা করার ব্যবস্থা করা যেতে পারে যা ব্যথামুক্ত ও রেডিয়েশন এর মতো পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়াহীন।
1st International Congress on Breast Diseases held on 27th & 28th February 2016 in Shaheed Milon Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Bangladesh.
A lot of renowned foreign physician participate in this congress, especially breast disease specialist. More than 400 (four hundred) Bangladeshi Doctors also participate in this programme.
Dr. A.K.M Fazlul Bari, Associate Professor, National Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences, BSMMU,Dhaka presents original research article on “Role of Elastoscan to differentiate benign from malignant breast lesions and correlation with histopathology”.
He said now we can detect breast cancer without any intervention through Elastoscan. It is chief, reliable, real time imaging system. Dr. Bari started Elastoscan first time in Bangladesh on 2011 in Institute of Thyroid Medicine Imaging Research (BITMIR), Bangladesh. Now he is doing research & attending the patient to detect carcinoma through Elastoscan. He also says we can detect breast cancer very early and reduce the unnecessary histopathology by using Eloastoscan.
